Alonovo's Values Rating System is designed to help conscientious shoppers find out how their purchases affect the issues they care about.
Here is a quick guide to how our Company Rating System works:
Over time we seek to integrate and normalize many trusted streams of Corporate Social Responsibility and product data to provide our community with a comprehensive experience. Our primary sources of data are presently KLD Research & Analytics, Inc., the Federal Elections Commission and we will soon be adding SA8000 Compliance information from Social Accountability International.
Next to every product on alonovo, you will see a Values Rating. This is a summary of a company’s social responsibility performance, represented on a scale of 1-5 green dots. These baseline ratings come from trusted, third-party research organizations. Where there is not yet a rating, you will see a N/A. Once you register with alonovo, you will get the opportunity to customize this rating system to reflect you’re personal values.
When you click to view a product’s details, you will see a Company Report Card appear. This view shows the rating details in five major Impact Groups: Socially Responsibility, Healthy Environment, Fair Workplace, Business Ethics, and Customer Commitment. The overall Values Rating is a summary of these scores.
If you are a registered user, you can click “more details” from the company report card view. This will take you to detailed view of the company’s social performance based on over 40 indicators which we call Metrics. Metrics are the individual issues that people care about including such topics as women and minority support, clean energy use, and support for local economies. These baseline ratings coming directly from our research sources and are rated in blue dots.
Here, you can weight issues according to your individual values. Once you set your values, the Company Report Card ratings change to reflect you custom values. You choose what is important to you.
