Exellent choice for a waterproof camera
2010-09-01

I have only had this camera for about a week, but have already taken it swimming in the lake with me multiple times. It is a nice full-featured camera that does a good job with standard picture-taking. It really excels underwater - spectacular pictures and video. With this camera you will not feel as though you settled for second-rate equipments just because you needed it to be waterproof.
I have taken pictures above and below water during my swims. I have also caught some nice video of underwater scenery and fish. I swim with the camera in my pocket underwater for up to an hour, and it has no problems. Everyone who sees the underwater images and video is impressed, and asks about my camera. I highly recommend this camera if you plan to take pictures and capture video in, around and under the water.
The only downsides for me are:
1. No real image stabilization
2. No lens cap
3. No optical viewfinder (now true with most digital cameras)
For the price, performance and features you should not hesitate to purchase the Z33WP. I love mine.
Bad refurbished

The camera has good quality pictures, but the flash doesn't shoot and the battery charger never charges the battery, was over.

I bought this camera for our Hawaiian trip thinking I was going to get pretty good pics. I had no idea that they were going to come out great! I read the reviews and the price was right. So I took a chance. Underwater pics and film were clear and bright. Lighting is important with any underwater camera. So make sure its not clouding for the best results. The controls were easy to use and this little camera also took great lively pictures on dry land.
Best decision I ever made!

I was heading to Maui for some snorkeling and wanted an affordable, quality underwater camera. After weeks of research, and countless customer reviews,I finally settled on the Fujifilm Fine Pix Z33WP. I even went out on a limb and purchased the refurbished model.
I was VERY nervous the first day I took it out. I couldn't believe that a camera that cost me so little would be truly submersible. It didn't take me long to realize how great this camera is. I cannot say enough positive things about it!
I vowed to tell everyone I know how happy I am with this camera. It is lightweight, attractive, and takes great photos!
If you are on the fence about what camera to buy...jump off and get the Fujifilm. You will be glad you did.
Mix feeling - Overall does its job...

I bought this as a gift and I got to tried it before I hand it over. Reality is that once you get spoil by Canon quality, it is hard to settle for anything less in terms of image quality and menu/interface advancements of Canon brand, my previous comparable Canon model was the Powershot A590 IS.
The good about this little camera: It is little, very pocketable and WATER PROOF. The camera is also very inexpensive for being water proof, that is a big plus. Solid constructions, it feels solid and well built.
The not so good... If you buy it directly from the vendor Adorama instead of here, you will get it cheaper $100. The bad thing, Adorama is not a reputable vendor, the camera they sent me, although it works great, it looked used, not freshly packaged and had finger prints every where.
The image quality is inferior, noisy and too punchy (saturated). The images from the A590IS looked more even and natural. I was hoping for stelar battery performance since I was stepping out of the AA batteries, but to my surprise, the battery on this camera doesn't last as much either.
The whole interface is kind of weird and very slow, it takes for ever to browse pictures and the interface buttons are very difficult to press, if you have big hands and you are trying to change settings in the middle of a pool or the beach where you hands and the camera are wet, good luck.
Other then that, for $100, it is the perfect everyday use little camera, it fits every where and it does what it suppose to, just not a stelar performer. My point here is that if you are trying to get the best performance and image quality out of an entry level water camera, then spend an extra $100 and get the Canon version of this camera, other wise learn to live with the short comings.
Good luck.
