4 stars Fun Movie 2010-05-14

Reviewer: Carl D. Paquette

I enjoyed the movie. The dialog is a bit hard to follow at times because of accents and the ever-present new acting style of mumbling your lines, but I really liked it.

I'm a Brendon Fraser fan and was not disappointed in this fantasy/action/adventure film.

5 stars Love the movie. . . 2010-05-09

I been waiting to buy this movie and finally I have. I been waiting for the price to come down. This movie is one of my favorites. I just love the storyline and the characters. I think the characters that come out of the book - Inkheart are fasinating. I would strongly recommend buying this movie. It is a good family - no nudity and no sexual material.

i'm not generally one for this sort of picture too much . the cast was what really drew me in and made me feel happy and entertained . in addition to the fine lead performances by Brendon Fraser , Paul Bettany , Helen Mirren , Jim Broadbent , etc , there are some very nice suprises . Andy Serkis (Gollum) is teriffic as the heavy here . Jennifer Connely appears in a small wordless performance as her real life husband's wife . the young lady who portays Mr. Fraser's daughter is new to me and is quite delightful . the gentleman who plays the middle eastern young man i have seen before but i don't recall where . he too was very enjoyable and in retrospect puts me in mind of Orlando Bloom a fair bit . since i don't see many family pictures i'm uncertain if this was as unique an idea as it struck me . it was , however , well acted , lens and directed in my opinion . i think the script was a pretty fair one . at least on a par with many good graphic novels i've read . i'd recommend a rental to those who love reading and like these performers and filmaker . yes , there is a good deal of silly stuff and CGI . roll the bones .
