GMO Labeling Initiative (Calif. Prop 37)

An example of political contributions and lobbying to undermine consumer and societal rights is the recent campaign in the State of California to label food products containing GMO's (Genetically Modified Organisms). While some organic activists and others concerned with food safety were able to mount an excellent campaign -they were massively outspent -nearly 10-1 and the Proposition seems on its way to defeat.

We highly recommend using our power as consumers to avoid buying products from companies that undermined efforts to simply provide basic labeling information.
